Helpful answers about mobile repairs, pricing, appointments and getting your vehicle ready.
Mobile repairs & services
What is a S.M.A.R.T repair?
S.M.A.R.T stands for Small to Medium Area Repair Technology. It uses focused repair methods for suitable cosmetic damage so the work can be limited to the affected area rather than replacing a complete part unnecessarily.
What cosmetic damage can you repair?
We assess suitable bumper scuffs, scratches, paint chips, small dents and cosmetic damage to painted alloy wheels. Send clear photographs so we can confirm whether the damage is suitable for a mobile repair.
Is every type of vehicle damage suitable for a mobile repair?
No. Structural damage, extensive collision damage, unsafe panels and some wheel conditions require a specialist workshop assessment. We will tell you honestly when the repair is outside the scope of our mobile service.
How do I know which repair service I need?
You do not need to diagnose the damage yourself. Send a wider photograph, a close-up, your vehicle details and postcode. We will review them and advise which service is appropriate.
Can you match my vehicle’s paint colour?
We use the vehicle details and colour-matching process to prepare the repair finish. Tell us if the panel has previously been repainted or the vehicle has a custom finish.
Quotes & pricing
How do I get a repair quote?
Use the quote form to send your contact details, vehicle make and model, postcode and clear photographs of every damaged area. We will assess suitability before confirming a price or appointment.
What photographs should I send?
Send one wider photograph showing where the damage sits, one clear close-up and another angle when a dent or crease is difficult to see. Photograph every area you want included in the quote.
How much does a mobile cosmetic repair cost?
The price depends on the type, size and position of the damage and the repair required. We provide a tailored quote after reviewing your photographs and vehicle details.
Can I include several damaged areas or vehicles in one enquiry?
Yes. Photograph each area or vehicle separately and describe what you want assessed. We can then allow the correct amount of time and include the agreed work in your quote.
Appointments & preparation
What are your working hours?
Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Send your photographs and vehicle details through the quote form and we will respond during working hours.
Can the repair be completed at my home or workplace?
Yes, where the location is suitable. We need safe off-road working space beside the vehicle, access for our van and permission from the owner or site manager when working at a workplace.
What access is required for a mobile repair?
We normally need nearby access to electricity and safe off-road parking with enough room for the vehicle and our van. We cannot work where the technician or vehicles would be exposed to passing traffic.
Can you work in bad weather?
Weather and working conditions must allow the repair to be completed safely and to the required standard. If conditions are unsuitable, we will discuss rearranging the appointment.
How long does a mobile repair take?
Timing depends on the damage and the agreed repair. Many suitable cosmetic repairs are completed within one appointment, and we will give you an expected timescale before booking.
Can I change my appointment?
Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Short-notice changes can make a replacement date harder to arrange.
Insurance & guarantees
Are you insured?
Yes. Mobile Smart Repairs Manchester is insured for the mobile repair work we undertake.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. Our completed repairs carry a three-year workmanship guarantee. We will explain any relevant care instructions when the repair is completed.

Better photos.
A clearer repair request.
- Show the whole panel
Step back so we can see where the damage sits on your vehicle.
- Get closer to the damage
Add a sharp close-up of the scratch, scuff or damaged alloy wheel. A second angle can help show dents.
- Use good daylight
Avoid heavy shadows and reflections that hide the damaged area.
More than one area?
Photograph each damaged area and mention it in your description, along with your vehicle model and postcode.
